iPod       The invention of the iPod took the world by storm changing the way the world listened to music. In October 2001 the first iPod was introduced to the world by Apple's own Steve Jobs.  This was a new way to take your entire music collection with you.  Prior to the iPod there was no easy option to listen to all your music on the go.  The clunky walkman required you to carry discs with you to change the music, walking the disc tended to skip causing the music to stop. The iPod was invented to bring a better MP3 player to the market.  Apple was able to take the iPod from idea to launch in one year.  The man who was credited with the idea was Tony Fadell who worked at Apple.  The original iPod had a mechanical wheel where you would scroll through the music library.                     Freedom of expression     T he right to freedom of expression is one of the most sacred elements in the Constitution of the United States. We are given the right under the first amendment except in exceptional cases  to express oneself freely. Lately, there has been a very fine line in our country regarding freedom of speech. For example, in the Tokyo Summer Olympics the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has ruled that athletes will not be permitted to wear any apparel with a political message during the Tokyo Olympics. The IOC has stated that they will consider punishing any athletes involved in protests or demonstrations during the Olympic Games.  They specifically mentioned slogans like "Black Lives Matter" will. not be allowed.  However, apparel that featured words such as "peace", "respect", "equality" or words of that nature woul...

  Dissent Protect  dissent                Protect Dissent, Injustice and the Meanings of America.  Our system is not supposed to be one of mob rule. The First Amendment protects minority views, no matter how unpopular. As a citizen you have a strongly protected right to disagree with the government, and everyone else if you choose.  In fact, it is your patriotic duty to criticize the government.  I agree with this statement.  If you disagree with the government it is your prerogative to speak up, however you must do so in a civilized, peaceful manner.  I would like to use the example of former President's Trump speech and the Capital riot on January 6, 2020.   Supreme Court Justices      The most interesting fact that I took away from reading and watching about the Supreme Court Justice was that  in 1963, the Supreme Court found that defendants who cannot afford legal representation must be provided it without charge ( Gideon v. Wainwright ). It never occurred to me that this was a civil right that had to be fought for.  I guess I  always assumed that it was part of the law or in the Constitution.  It makes sense if you think about it, that the court would have to provide you a a legal representative if you couldn't afford one.  If you were involved in a serious matter you would not be able to represent yourself properly.  The average person doesn't know all the ins and outs of the legal system.  How did people defended themselves before this law came to be, how many were imprisoned, fined, or punished because they couldn't afford to defend themselves....

  News recommendations I'm not a fan of the news, but my family's choice of news is David Murr and ABC News. It's depressing and shows the worst of humanity and not the world in its everyday sight. There is more going on than people blowing each other up. The only thing I like about the news is David Murr’s voice. http://abcnews.go.com The top news source I use for entertainment is ESPN, although it's not news about the world. It portrays current events within sports and develops news regarding players, teams, trades, and other statistics and stories. This is light-hearted and more realistic to what I care about as they give timely updates and keep me posted on developments in the sporting world. www.Espn.com The news I would go to for unbiased reporting would be Reuters.
